Emerging 5 Small Businesses of the Year (Click for Nomination Form)This annual program recognizes the area's fastest and strongest growing small businesses for their exceptional achievements in the area of business development. The 5 companies are selected for their contributions to the region's economy and for how they have positioned themselves toward continued success. Nominated by their peers and clients, the companies selected for this year’s award have demonstrated strength in the following key areas:
 Growth/Expansion
 Innovation
 Diversification
 Response to adversity
 Community aide/contributions

Small Business of the Year (Click for Nomination Form)The Cleveland County Chamber’s Small Business of the Year Award is presented to the small business that has the greatest positive impact on the community. The industry must be well rounded in successfully combining community involvement, business performance and a high standard of conduct into all areas of its operation. To be eligible the business must be physically located in Cleveland County.

The following criteria will be used to determine the Small Business of the Year.
 Must be a business located in Cleveland County with 50 employees or less.
 Significant business achievements; industry awards, public recognition, other achievement or recommendations.
 Exhibits leadership in business and community affairs.
 Innovative; shows creativity in business decisions or in development of specific products or services.
 Responds to business challenges and problems with effective solutions.
 Participates in community affairs and activities contributing time, effort, and resources.
 Active involvement in professional and/or trade associations.
 Must be a member of the Cleveland County Chamber.

Duke Energy

Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award (Click for Nomination Form)In conjunction with Duke Energy, the Cleveland County Chamber offers the Citizenship and Service Award as a means to pay tribute to individuals or groups who make a difference in the community or places of work by using their time, talents and compassion to positively impact the lives of others. Recipients of the award help foster a culture of citizenship and service that acts as a catalyst for others to become involved in civic and social activities.

Award criteria:
 Recognize activities that set a standard and foster a culture for citizenship, service and community responsibility
 Demonstrate a commitment to service and/or civic participation over a sustained period
 Demonstrate one or more of the following business values:
-Integrity
-Stewardship
-Inclusion
-Initiative
-Teamwork
-Accountability

Jean Bettis Staff Award (Click for Nomination Form)This award was established by Cleveland County Chamber to pay tribute annually to a staff member whose corporate loyalty and attitude have made an important and constant contribution to their organization’s transitions and growth. The Inaugural Award was presented in 1997, to Jean Bettis, Office Manager of Cleveland County Chamber, recognizing 40 years of loyalty and service. Nominate your employee for the award by January 1, 2019. The award will be presented during the annual banquet in January.

Non-Profit of the Year Award (Click for Nomination Form)The Non-Profit of the Year Award is a new Chamber community involvement award recognizing non-profit companies whose mission directly supports the business community. This prestigious award is presented to an organization that exemplify best practices in nonprofit management and professional development and makes a profound difference in the lives of the citizens of Cleveland County.

The following criteria will be used to determine the Non-Profit of the Year.
 Nominee has made a meaningful accomplishment in the past five years that has impacted Cleveland County and its citizens.
 Nominee develops and fosters the virtues and skills of civic engagement and social responsibility within their community.
 Organization's conduct must be above reproach regarding ethics, quality, service, and the development of its human resources.
 Nominations will be accepted from the general public and Chamber members

Young Professional of the Year Award (Click for Nomination Form)Young Professional award recognizes the county's top young professionals within Cleveland County. Nominees are all in their 20s or 30s, active within their community, demonstrate leadership ability in the community and their current role, and offer a unique perspective.

The following criteria will be used to determine the Young Professional of the Year.
 The nominee must be between the ages of 23 and 39 years old at the time of the nomination
 Demonstrated leadership accomplishments in the community or business
 Involved in a community or non-profit organization
 Actively pursuing excellence in their profession
 Used unique and creative approaches to meet needs of the business and/or community.
